I believe in paying forward. Because of this, I will donate 5% of every purchase to the Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit organization behind Wikipedia.
Since 2001, Wikipedia has single-handedly changed the face of the internet. With over fifteen million articles -- written and edited by its users -- the encyclopedia has also changed the world, and the way knowledge is shared. What was previously only available in libraries or via internet subscriptions is now at the fingertips of anyone curious enough to inquire.
Unfortunately, while this service is (and always will be) free, they require large quantities of money to keep their servers running. Subsequently, I feel it is necessary to give back to the Wikimedia Foundation. This is how I plan to do it.
